NEVER DUNN is four days in the Sierra with a small group of good men. You come to get outside, put the phone away, take on a challenge worth doing, and spend time with men who love the outdoors and want to lead their lives well. No agenda to fix anybody — just Truckee, the high country, a full table, and time that actually counts.

Why Men Come Back Different

Iron sharpens iron.

Men get sharper around other men — through challenge, adventure, and time with guys who are further down the trail and glad to bring you along. And somewhere in the miles, the fire, and the quiet, most men catch themselves thinking the same thing: “I didn't realize how checked-out I'd gotten” — from the outdoors, from real friendship, from the family waiting back home. That part isn't the sell. It's just what the mountains do when you give them a few days.

How It Works

Simple on purpose.

Small groups of men on multi-day wilderness adventures in the Sierra — a leader out front, a cook in the kitchen, food on the table, lodging on the property, and the adventure itself. Once the basecamp is ready, the trips pay for themselves.

The Place

A basecamp in the mountains above Truckee.

A house, a garage, and a barn on land minutes from the Sierra — the bones of a basecamp, with room to sleep a dozen men, feed them well, and launch into the backcountry. The work ahead is making it four-season ready, starting with closing in the barn so men can come year-round.

Two Ways to Be Part of It

Help build the basecamp

One-time gifts fund the construction that turns the property into a year-round home for these trips — starting with the barn. It builds something permanent that NEVER DUNN owns and uses.

Send a man on the trip

Gifts to the scholarship fund cover the cost for men who couldn't otherwise come, so the invitation stays open — money is never the reason a good man misses out.
